Cloverdale's Sydney Shrum carded an 85 to lead Cloverdale's team at the Terre Haute South Invite at Rea Park Golf Course.

TERRE HAUTE -- Three of the four county schools competed at the Terre Haute South Invite Tuesday. Greencastle finished seventh with a score of 409, with South Putnam placing eighth with a 421 and Cloverdale nine with a 424.

Cloverdale's Sydney Shrum was the county's lowest scorer after firing an 85. Greencastle's Katie Hedge was close behind with a 90 for her round.

In addition to Hedge, Kenzie St. Marie shot a 105, Jessie Bennett shot a 106 and Liz Johnson shot a 108. Lauren Bridgewater rounded out the GHS golfers with a 139. Head coach Brad Kingma liked his team's performance and was especially pleased with the improvement of one of his golfers.

"This was a much better result than what we had been getting, particularly from Liz," Kingma said. "She had been struggling to take how she plays in practice rounds into competition. Hopefully, as she gets more experience, she'll be able to build on this as a confidence booster."

For South Putnam, Madison Cash led the team with a 100, followed by Kendra Boyce with a 101 and Caitlyn Boyce with a 107. Sarah Woodworth shot a 113 and Kaitlyn Stanton shot a 136.

Following Shrum's 85, Victoria Boyette shot s 96 and Makayla Moore shot a 107. Deena Hesslegrave shot a 136 and Anna Spencer shot a 143 for CHS.
