Cloverdale volleyball wins over West Vigo

The Cloverdale volleyball team defeated West Vigo in four sets 25-8, 25-23, 18-25 and 25-18 to move to 3-2 on the season.

Bradanne Toney led the Clovers with 12 kills, Mariah Oetken adding 11 and Rebekah Jordan with six. Katie Fulkerson had four and Taylor Jones and Paige Gruener had two each. Oetken and Toney also had one block each.

Toney had 13 points to lead Cloverdale, with Jones and Jordan had nine points each. Gruener and Bristy Skiles had six points, while Oetken added three and Fulkerson two. Toney had six aces, with Jordan recording one ace.

"We played better tonight," head coach Kathy Moore said. "We had a season best 11 aces. Three matches during a week is hard and we will turn around and do it again next week, but the girls really hung in there."

In junior varsity action, Cloverdale won 25-22 and 25-20, moving to 4-1 on the season. Lexi Branneman had eight kills, with Megan Helterbrand adding five kills. Jessica Winders had 19 points for the Clovers.
