Jay Stevens, 63, of Brazil, passed away at Indiana University Hospital, in Indianapolis on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011.
She was born Sept. 29, 1947 in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of James "Coach" and Mary I. (Murnane) Huter. Jay graduated from Henryville High School, Henryville, with the class of 1965. Jay attended Indiana University South East for two years. She was employed by Great Dane Trailers, Brazil, in the Human Resources Department, for more than 20 years.
She married Fred Stevens on Dec. 22, 1984.
Jay enjoyed reading and watching horse racing and basketball, but her life was devoted to her work and the people of Great Dane.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Huter, and recently by her father, Coach Huter.
She is survived by her devoted husband Fred Stevens; siblings, James M. Huter of Terre Haute, Jo Corbitt of Greencastle, Jack Huter (Janice) West Virginia, Judi Huter of Terre Haute, Jill McCammack (Kevin) of Fillmore; nieces and nephews, Jason, Joshua, Jonathan, Jacob, Joseph, John and Kate; great niece Morgan and nephew and Jackson.
Services will be at French Funeral Home Friday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, in Greencastle. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, Sept. 8, from 4-8 p.m.
