Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Brooklyn "Brookie" Corinne Basham, 7, left this Earth to walk with God on Sept. 18, 2011.

Brooklyn was born July 15, 2004 to Christina McClure and Brandon Basham. Brooklyn was a special education student in Miss Hunter's class at South Putnam Central Elementary. She loved music and her family and friends.

Brooklyn had a sweet smile that warmed the hearts of all who knew her. Let us rejoice in knowing that Brooklyn is no longer bound by her disabilities.

She is survived by her parents; brothers Wade Vibbert and William Basham; half brother Nicholas Bashman Kissane; grandfather Donald McClure; aunts Donna Jones and Jennifer Basham; and uncle Allen McClure.

Preceeding her in death were her grandmother, Ellen Ferguson McClure; and great-grandparents Thelma Epler McClure and Henry Arthur McClure.

Brooklyn had Mitochondrial Myopathy Complex I. Memorial contributions may be made to PNC Bank Clayton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may also be made in her name to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation at www.umdf.org.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Hazelwood Christian Church, Clayton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Indiana Memorial & Cremation Center, Indianapolis.
