Donn Lowell Spencer, 78, of Avon, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 27, 2011 at the Indiana Masonic Home.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1932 at Crawfordsville to James Lowell and Zelma Fugate Spencer.

He graduated from Waveland High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He owned and operated Blue Luster Cleaning, Waveland Cleaners, Capitol Cleaners and the Edinburg Laundromat.

He was a 50-year member of the Waveland Masonic Lodge F & AM 300, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Southport Presbyterian Church.

He married Elizabeth Sinnet on May 26, 1956 at Russellville, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons Keith L. and James Spencer of Avon, daughter Karen (Hubert) Ley of Plainfield, grandchildren Carl and Katherine Ley, Victoria Baier and Nicolas Lashbrook, great-granddaughter Gema Lashbrook, goddaughter Harmioni Lokko.

He was preceded by two brothers and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Machledt and Servies Funeral Home, Waveland.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service. Burial will be at Russellville Cemetery. Rev. Kathy Elliott will officiate.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Southport Presbyterian Church, Southport. Memorials may be made to Southport Presbyterian Church or Russellville Community Church.
