Clovers cruise to win over Eels

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale volleyball team defeated Eminence Tuesday 25-11. 25-11 and 25-12 to move to 14-5 on the season.

Adri Patterson led the Clovers with a season-high 11 points, with Bradanne Toney and Bristy Skiles adding seven. Rebekah Jordan had six, Paige Gruener had five and Katie Fulkerson and Mariah Oetken had three points each. Lindsay Robson and Taylor Jones had two points each.

Toney had 27 kills, with Oetken adding seven, Jones six, Patterson two and Fulkerson one. Toney also had four blocks, while Oetken, Jones and Fulkerson had one block each. Toney led the team with eight digs, followed by Gruener with seven, Skiles and Oetken with five and Jordan with four digs. Robson, Jones and Patterson had two digs each.

"Our passing was much better tonight and we were able to score more kills because of it. We are starting to talk about sectionals and what we need to do to improve our game. The next week and a half we have many tough matches against some very good teams, it should be a good warm up to playoffs," CHS head coach Kathy Moore said.

The Cloverdale junior varsity lost in two sets to go to 16-4 on the season.
