BAINBRIDGE -- A Covered Bridges of Putnam County Festival to benefit the Friends of the Park organization that services Russellville, Roachdale and Bainbridge is scheduled to run Oct. 14-23 at Bainbridge.

This will be the group's fourth year of holding its major fundraiser in the fall.

The Bainbridge location, on the north side of U.S. 36, west of the community center, provides room for some 150 vendors and is expected to be full.

The Friends of the Park "taco hut" will be among the vendors, which will include out-of-state booths, arts and crafts stands and several other food providers.

On Saturday, Friends of the Park will host a car and truck show with winners of the Best of Show car and truck receiving a plaque and a $100 cash prize.

The Bainbridge Improvement Society will also be holding is annual garage sale in conjunction with the event, while Greg Hedge will be providing music as resident disc jockey.

Organizer Dianna Gorrell notes that vendors are still being accepted for the fundraiser. They can call 435-2813 or visit the website friendsoftheparkrussellvlle.org and click on the covered bridge for an application.

All proceeds from vendor fees go to provide free programming for children at parks in Bainbridge, Roachdale and Russellville, Gorrell said.
