Cloverdale leads All-County volleyball selections

Area volleyball coaches have announced their selections for the 2011 Putnam County All-County team following their tournament on Sept. 10. Five seniors and two juniors will comprise the team.

Cloverdale

Senior middle hitter Mariah Oetken is the daughter of Merlin and Tina Oetken. She has lettered three years in volleyball and track and one year in basketball. She is a volleyball and track captain and has been a county champion in volleyball, 400m and high jump. She has also been a two year regional qualifier in track. Mariah has earned her academic jacket and is active in FCA, National Arts Honor Society and is an Clover Ambassador.

Junior middle hitter Bradanne Toney is the daughter of Bradley Toney and Traci Scott. She is a captain for the volleyball team and a three year letter winner in volleyball. Bradanne has lettered two years in softball. She made the WCC All Conference Team and Putnam All County team in 2010. Bradanne is the junior class vice-president, a member of the Spainish Club and Student Council.

Junior setter Bristy Skiles is the daughter of Gary and Evamarie Skiles. Bristy is a two year letter winner in volleyball and basketball and was 6th in the state for 3-pointers last year. She has been selected Student of the Month at CHS, is a Clover Ambassador, and a member of the National Art Honor Society.

North Putnam

Senior outside hitter Kallie Brattain is the daughter of Kent and Kim Brattain. Kallie is a letter winner in volleyball. She has received numerous Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion awards at the Putnam County Fair, Open Swine shows as well as Champion of the Indiana State Fair, also receiving Champion at National Swine Shows. Kallie's future plans are to attend cosmetology school or a two year college.

Senior Libero LeeAnn Davis is the daughter of Eric and Angie Davis. She is a letter winner in volleyball, basketball, track and softball. She has received Outstanding Art and Biology student and Academic Honors. LeeAnn is a member of National Honor Society and Area 30 Honor Society. LeeAnn's future plans are to attend college and earn a degree in physical therapy or nursing.

Greencastle

Senior outside hitter and co-captain Kara Birt is the daughter of Jerry and Karen Birt. She has lettered two years in volleyball, one year in track and participated in tennis two years. She is a member of NHS, Greencastle Ambassadors and Leadership 801 in her church youth group.

South Putnam

Emily Dabkowski is the daughter of Joe Dabkowski and Becky Dabkowski. At the conclusion of this season she will have lettered in volleyball four times. She has also lettered twice in basketball and three times in softball. She is a co-captain of the volleyball team this year. Her honors and achievements include volleyball county champion, All-Conference twice in softball, All-Conference in volleyball, All-Conference in basketball, National Honor Society, Academic Honors Diploma and was a member of the 2011 South Putnam State Champion softball team.

Cloverdale defeated North Putnam in the Putnam County Final match in two sets, 25-22 and 25-19.
