Evelyn Uzila Bell

Evelyn Uzila Bell, 91, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011.

She was born Jan. 12, 1920 in Roanoke, Va., to the late John and Annie Merricks Webster.

Evelyn married John E. Bell on Aug. 4, 1956, and he preceded her in death March 19, 1995.

She was a member of Fillmore Bethel Baptist Church.

Her hobbies were reading, church attendance, communicating with family, friends and neighbors and donating to various charities.

Her survivors are daughter Charlotte Chemavonian of San Mateo, Calif.; grandchildren Catherine (Marion) Tarter of Indianapolis, Linda (Wade) Wilson of Placerville, Calif., and Anna (James) Sanchez of San Francisco; great-grandson Kevin (Evy) Daly; brother Col. Norris (Lois) Webster of Emery, S.D.; sister-in-law Rita Webster of Plainfield and niece Annielou Gowan of Fishers.

Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, with visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorial gifts have been suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Humane Society of Indianapolis.
