GFD thanks open house supporters

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

To the editor:

The Greencastle Fire Department would like to extend a special "thanks" to the following supporters who contributed to the 11th annual open house event on Oct. 13.

We had a huge success with record-breaking attendance of 300-plus this year. The winners of the coloring, poster and art contests were recognized with ages ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed great food, entertainment from Patches, and fire prevention education through our "Smokehouse" experience.

The success of this event could not have been possible without the generosity of those involved. Thank you again to everyone for supporting our efforts to educate our community to protect lives and property.

Supporters included: Banner Graphic, Bright Futures, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King, Cardinal Office Products, Charming Shoppes, Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Chiyoda, Conner Prairie, Dairy Castle, Domino's Pizza, Eitel's Flowers & Gifts, Elks Club and Ladies Auxiliary, Family Video, First National Bank, Goody's, Greencastle Community Schools, Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, Indianapolis Colts, Kroger, McDonald's, Monical's Pizza, PNC Bank, Putnam County Convention & Visitor Bureau, Putnam County Hospital, Putnam Inn, Therese Cunningham State Farm Insurance, Subway, Teachers Credit Union and the Walmart store.
