County Jail

On Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10:10 a.m. Thomas Walker Dobson, 28, Reelsville, was booked in the Putnam County Jail for burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

Sheriff's Department

* On Monday, Oct. 17 at 4:29 p.m. Robin R. Speas, 36, Quincy, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2008 Toyota Rav4. She did not notice that Cecil R. Sayre, 46, Monrovia, was making a left turn into a driveway in a 2001 Honda Odyssey.

The Speas vehicle rear-ended Sayre's vehicle. Speas said she did not see a turn signal.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

City Police

Two recent accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 2:12 p.m. Monday, a two-vehicle mishap occurred on Indianapolis Road, 500 feet west of Percy Julian Drive, as Stanley Gardner, 64, Greencastle, had stopped his 2004 Ford F-150 truck in traffic where it was reportedly rear-ended by a 1995 Saturn, driven by Shelby Skirvin, 17, Cloverdale.

Skirvin had looked to the left and did not see Gardner had stopped, Officer Ed Wilson reported.

Total damage was listed at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 12:30 p.m. Oct. 14, a minor mishap occurred at North Jackson and Franklin streets as a 2009 Buick, driven by John R. Long, 87, Greencastle, and a 2010 Kia, driven by Leanne Bassi, 18, Indianapolis, were southbound on Jackson and collided as they both entered the turn lane to go left onto Franklin Street.

Officer Darrel Bunten estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

Three recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

-- At 12:25 a.m. Thursday, David Sells Jr., 42, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Matt Huffman at North College Avenue and Frazier Street for driving with a suspended with a prior offense.

-- At 7:20 am. Tuesday, Jennifer Von Tress, 26, Sunrise, Fla., was ticketed on Jackson Street by Officer Albert Epple for having an expired license plate. The California plate had expired in June.

-- At 5:40 a.m. Oct. 14, Officer Epple cited Johnney Hester IV, 21, Greencastle, on Washington Street for having a false or fictitious registration.
