CLOVERDALE -- Members of the Cloverdale High School Drama Club will present the mystery/comedy "Death by Chocolate" on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5.

The performance will begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. in the cafetorium.

The show by Paul Freed finds members of the newly renovated Meadowbrook Health Resort are dropping like flies. On the eve of the grand reopening, this is not the best advertisement the health resort could want.

It's up to manager John Stone (Chauncey Baker) to find the cause and the murderer. The delightfully sarcastic and cynical script finds Stone teaming up with famed mystery writer and amateur sleuth Ed Parlor (Cody Atwood) to find the killer in a race against time.

The clues point to a sinister box of chocolates. The suspects include all the outlandish characters working for the resort. They include: Lady Riverdale (Chelsea Leach), owner of the resort, and a woman of dark secrets; Ralph Deadwood (Taulbee Jackson), the gym instructor and all around cad; and Dick Simmering (Derek Weaver), the aerobics instructor.

Other employees include: Anne (Arial Immel), the panic-stricken nurse; Edith Chiles (Ashley Grove), the famed chef; Dyslexia (Krymson Noel), the secretary and Alfreda Mellox (Hannah Ramey), the maid and long-time friend of Henry Meadowbrook (Mitchell Stacey).

Rounding out the cast are: Henry Meadowbrook (Mitchell Stacey), the founder of the health resort; his non-talking daughter, Sweet Pea Meadowbrook (Rachel Short), and Margaret Daniels (Sarabeth Couch), a reporter writing a magazine article.

General admission tickets are priced at $5 for adults and $3 for students. Doors open each evening at 6:45.

The play is under the direction of Brad Sandy.

Student director is Miranda Tate with Victoria Boyette, Lisha Hunsicker, Izzy Wardlow and Mitchell Stacey rounding out the crew working on lights, sound and stage crew.
