Final decisions made regarding move from annex

Saturday, November 12, 2011

The closure of the Putnam County Courthouse Annex just days away, the county commissioners made some final decisions regarding where to relocate certain services still housed there.

At their Monday, Nov. 7 meeting, the commissioners approved the return of the Veterans Affairs Office to the Putnam County Courthouse.

Although the county is still seeking a permanent solution, the office will be in the conference room on the fourth floor of the courthouse. A solution will become clearer once a decision is made on the move of the Title IV D office.

Likewise, commissioners and council meetings will have to find a new home.

The morning commissioners meeting, held the first Monday of each month at 9 a.m., will now be in the Emergency Operations Center, 1600 W. CR 225 South.

Evening commissioners and council meetings will take place in the Putnam Circuit Court Room, Courthouse, Room 30. The commissioners meet at 6 p.m. the third Monday of the month. The council meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.

The Tuesday, Nov. 15 Putnam County Council meeting will be the final meeting in the Annex before its closure.
