Thursday, November 17, 2011

The Putnam County Museum has announced the donation by Martha Donovan Opdahl of "Jigsaw Puzzle," a tufted wool wall hanging of hand-dyed yarn.

The abstract 4' x 6' piece "is a stunning addition to the museum's Art Walk," Museum Director Tanis Monday commented.

Opdahl received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1985. She studied and taught in Budd Stalnaker's Woven and Constructed textile program.

Her large pieces have been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally.

Martha Donovan Opdahl and her husband, Keith, have lived in Putnam County since 1967. She has studios in Greencastle and Santa Fe, N.M.
