Greencastle remains undefeated

FRANKFORT -- In a battle of undefeated teams, the Greencastle High School bowling team pulled out a victory over Lebanon on Sunday afternoon at Revolutions in Frankfort.

Greencastle is 5-0 after the come from behind win over Lebanon, now 4-1 in the Wabash Valley South High School Bowling Conference.

North Putnam dropped to 2-3 with a loss to Clinton Prairie and South Putnam is 0-5 after losing to Crawfordsville.

Based on actual scoring and individual matchups, Lebanon won the first game, 8-2. Greencastle was led by Jacob Schick with a 207, followed by Austin Alspaugh 206, Raymond Stinson 196, Reggie Alex 171 and Joe Fields 157.

To come from behind and remain undefeated, Greencastle needed to win all five matchups, plus the total pin count in game two, and did it.

April Cain came through with a season-high 200 for Greencastle in game two to complete the sweep. Stinson led Greencastle with a 206, followed by Schick with a 202, Alex 189 and Alspaugh 183.

Against Clinton Prairie, North Putnam was led by Yzander Crowe with games of 160 and 131. Josh Andreu put together a 135 and 126, followed by Jeremiah Fink 95 and 93, Nikki Wertz 80 and 105 and K.C. Lofton 54 and 94.

South Putnam and Crawfordsville were evenly matched with two bowlers each. Tyler Nield led South Putnam with scores of 139 and 121, followed by Anthony Cosner 139 and 114.

The Wabash Valley South High School Bowling Conference returns to action Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. at Plaza Lanes in Crawfordsville.
