Lighting up lives

Saturday, November 26, 2011

Nestled in the arms of Santa Claus Friday night, seven-year-old Paris Nolan celebrates the lighting of the Circle of Lights on Monument Circle in Indianapolis in front of some 100,000 spectators and a live central Indiana television audience. Paris, a first-grader at Bainbridge Elementary School, won a coloring contest to earn the honor of flipping the switch to illuminate 4,784 lights streaming from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument (aka "the world's largest Christmas tree") in downtown Indianapolis. The annual ceremony kicks off the holiday season in Indianapolis. Paris is the daughter of Holy Stabler, Heritage Lake.
