Jerod Chew gives the keynote address to the annual meeting of the Sycamore Trails RC&D organization.

Putnam County's Jerod Chew gave the keynote address at the annual meeting of members of Sycamore Trails RC&D, a conservative interest non-profit organization headquartered in Greencastle.

Chew, a graduate of South Putnam High School, is currently the director of the Environmental Stewardship Team in the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.

His address to the 50-plus crowd of members and friends of Sycamore Trails began with recollections of his youth in Putnam County and ISU, segueing into his professional duties which closely align with Sycamore Trails' tag line: Respecting Nature, Conserving Resources, Developing Communities.

Guests saw displays and listened to presentations by nine past and present standing committees involved in activities ranging from state park enhancement to forest stewardship to mine land reclamation to invasive exotic plant control to conservation easements, and more.

Chew may be contacted at jchew@isda.in.gov. The Sycamore Trails' website is sycamoretrails.org or via email to laura.stearley@sycamoretrails.
