Cantata 'Lead Me Back to Bethlehem' slated Sunday

The Community Cantata choir will perform twice on Sunday, Dec. 11, once at 10:30 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.

A community cantata choir representing nine churches will be giving two free 45-minute performances of "Lead Me Back to Bethlehem" by Pepper Choplin.

The first performance will take place on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church on Round Barn Road.

The second performance is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, corner of Locust and Seminary streets.

Director of Music and Accompanist is Cheryl Beck. Choir Director is William Scharfenberger. Narrators are Brian Martin and Beth Newton Watson.

DePauw instrumentalists are Travis Miller (trumpet), Susan Miller (violin) and Kelsey Gagesch (flute). 

Soloists are Erik Erlandson, Mark McKee and Claire Wilkinson.

Participating churches include Bethel Baptist Church, Brick Chapel United Methodist Church, Cloverdale United Methodist Church, First Christian Church, Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greencastle Presbyterian Church, New Providence Baptist Church and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
