Charles E. Elmore, age 92, of Greencastle, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Born July 14, 1919 in Greencastle, he was the son of Carl and Lilly (Siddons) Elmore.

He was a graduate of Stilesville High School.

He married Margaret (Brown) Elmore in 1945, and she preceded him in death.

Charles had been a farmer and welder, having worked for the Bryant-Poff Co. in Stilesville until his retirement.

He was a member of the Hanna Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Tony (Sarah) Elmore of Coatesville; two sisters, Sarah Callahan of Avon and Dorothy Hochstetler of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Doris Elmore of Mooresville; two grandchildren, David (Lori) Elmore of Martinsville and Paula (Scott) Wiggins of Greencastle; five great-grandchildren, Bethany and Kaylee Elmore and Bryce, Brent and Faith Wiggins; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Sue Ann Elmore; and brothers, Dennis, Beryl, Keith, Russell and Donald Elmore.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Patrick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.
