Wayne and Jean Weaver will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day.

They marked the occasion earlier this year with a family cruise to The Bahamas and a family trip on Thanksgiving to Laughlin, Nev., where they had a winter home for many years.

The former Jean Stevens of Bloomington married Wayne Weaver of Paragon on Dec. 25, 1952 at the Bloomington home of Rev. and Mrs. Russell. At that time, Wayne was home on leave from the Army, stationed with SCARWAF at Camp Wolters in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Jean is a homemaker and member of the Cloverdale Order of the Eastern Star, Cloverdale American Legion Auxiliary and Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority. She was also a volunteer for Putnam County Family Support Services in Greencastle.

Wayne retired from IBM Corp. in 1987. A Korean War veteran, he is a member and past master of the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge 132, Cloverdale Order of the Eastern Star, Cloverdale American Legion, Gosport Lions Club and has worked for the Cloverdale Volunteer Fire Department.

They are the parents of a daughter, Janie (husband Joe) Miller of Pittsburgh, and a son, Jeff Weaver of Gosport.

Cards may be sent to P.O. Box 507, Gosport, IN 47433.
