Art Contest Winner

Thursday, December 29, 2011

The approximately 250 Christmas cards sent out by Horizon Hospice this year were designed by a Tzouanakis Intermediate School student. The design by Cade Plew (center) was chosen from among the 12 to 15 finalists submitted by Tzouanakis art teacher Dessa Frank (left). "The students get excited about making something like that," Frank said of the contest. For his efforts, Cade received an art set and a framed and matted copy of his design. Horizon also made a $250 donation to the Tzouanakis art department. The presentations were made before Christmas break with (from left) Frank, Horizon owner Larraine Smith, Cade, parents Jennifer and Rick Plew and Lindsay Patterson of Horizon all in attendance. Based in Danville, Horizon serves West Central Indiana, including Putnam County, in making sure people are comfortable in the last chapter of their lives.
