Morris Glenn Ogles

Morris Glenn Ogles, 87, Belle Union, went to join the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospice, after a brief illness.

Morris Glenn was born on June 6, 1924. He was the son of the late Johnie and Edna (Clearwaters) Ogles. He was born and raised in Belle Union and was married to Helen (Dozier) Ogles on September 11, 1943.

He was a farmer, livestock trucker and Producers Livestock accountant. He was well known in the community for his caring and outgoing spirit.

He was a member and deacon of the Eminence Baptist Church, longtime member of the former Walnut Chapel Friends Church, founding member of the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, a 50-year member of the Larrabee Masonic Lodge No. 131, F. & A.M., Stilesville, and a longtime board member and Sexton of the Walnut Chapel Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Marie Ogles; a daughter, Trudy Tharp and husband John; a son, Kevin Ogles and wife Carol; six grandchildren, Zachary Tharp and wife Breanna, Joshua Tharp and wife Jessica, Amy Nickol and husband Michael, and Jonah Ogles, Samuel Ogles and Hannah Ogles; eight great-grandchildren; and his son-in-law, Howard Miller.

He will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Masonic Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Walnut Chapel Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Lynn (Ogles) Miller.
