PCH to host food and paper product drive on Jan. 26

Friday, January 13, 2012

Often after the holidays, food pantry shelves go bare and the volunteers struggle to fill them.

A local effort is out to help remedy that.

Putnam County Hospital, along with Horizon Hospice, the Banner Graphic, WREB and local FFA chapters, will be hosting a "Hope for a Super 2012" food and paper product drive on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Surgery Center parking lot at PCH.

Thanks to the help of the local FFAs, the food drive will have a drive-through option to make it even more convenient for donors. Everyone who donates will receive a complimentary cookie and their choice of hot chocolate or coffee.

Types of products sought as donations are non-perishable food items, toilet paper, facial tissue, diapers and paper towels.
