Cox - 60th Anniversary

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Charles L. and Vera J. Cox of Greencastle, formerly of Mooresville, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Charles married the former Vera Sullivan on Feb. 9, 1952 in Mooresville with the Rev. Carl W. McBee officiating.

Vera and Charles met on a blind date in December of 1951 and married just a few months later, believing that Charles might be enlisted to serve in the Korean War.

He didn't end up serving, but they have been together ever since.

Vera is retired from the Indiana University School of Medicine after 33 years of employment. Charles is retired from Indiana University where he was an electrician for 32 years.

They are 50-year members of the Mooresville Friends Church and also attend the Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

They are the proud parents of Douglas Cox (Carol) of Greencastle and the late Charles L. Cox Jr. They have two granddaughters, Amanda Cox (Brad) and Rachel Cox, both of Indianapolis, and two step-grandsons, Aaron and Peter Jones of Indianapolis.

A private family dinner is planned to celebrate this joyous occasion.
