Kathryn S. Nickell, 97, of Coatesville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21 in the Mill Pond Health Care Facility in Greencastle.
Born Oct. 14, 1914 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Joseph Rhea Sullivan and Emma E. (Newman) Sullivan. She married Frank Nickell and he preceded her in death.
Kathryn had worked as a leasing agent for Atriam Village Apartments and then she had worked for Shadeland Terrace Apartments as Property Manager for 21 years.
She was a 65-year member of Epsilon Lambda of the Epsilon Sigma International Sorority. She was also a member of the Coatesville United Methodist Church and Neola Chapter of Rebekahs.
Survivors include a daughter Nikki J. (Jerry) Valorani, stepson Ted Nickell, four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
"For all the notes, cards, and letters while she waited, Mother thanks you. For all smiles, pictures, and visits while she waited, Mother wants to know how much they were appreciated.
"Mother's wait is over. She has joined so many who have gone before her."
Join family and friends at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville, for calling on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 4-8 p.m. with services scheduled at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Kathryn request contributions be made to Sheltering Wings for Women or Camp Riley for Disabled Children. The family has requested that friends bring an apple to the visitation in Kathryn's memory to be donated to the food pantry.
