Kieth Nelson Green, 76, of Greencastle passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1936 in Brownsburg to Edward and Mildred Wilson Green.

Kieth served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves during the Korean War.

He attended Purdue University, and had been employed at Avco in Cincinnati, Magnavox in Urbana, Ill., Ford Motor Co. in Indianapolis, and at P.R. Mallory in Greencastle, where he served as the plant manager from 1987 until his retirement in 2004.

Mr. Green was a member of Greencastle Christian Church, a member of the Mallory Conversation Club, and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 58, where he was a past commander.

He had served as a Scout Leader, was a former chairman of trustees at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church; and served as a Greencastle city councilman from 1996-1999.

His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Penelope Jean Gardner Green; five children, Byron Green of Albuquerque, N.M., Michael Lee and wife Julie Allen of Greenwood, Laurie Gobert and husband Shawn of Greencastle, Jonathan Green and wife Shannon of Avon and Julienne Green and husband Brett Terry of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Edward Zollars and wife Maxine of Brownsburg, and William Zollars and wife Linda of Indianapolis; a sister, Betty Craven of Ramona, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Keely Allen, Connor Allen, Eryn Lee, Ellen Gobert, Nathan Gobert, Isabella Green, Evalyn Green and Lillian Green.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at the funeral home.
