Coatesville man arrested on child molestation charges
A 37-year-old Putnam County man has been arrested on multiple felony sexual allegations involving a minor female.
Indiana State Police detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division at the Putnamville Post Thursday evening arrested David L. Williams of Coatesville.
Arrested at the Putnamville Post and incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail, Williams is being held on preliminary charges of child molestation, a Class A felony; rape, a Class B felony; and incest, a Class B felony.
More charges are possible as the investigation continues, State Police spokesman Sgt. Joe Watts reported Thursday night.
The investigation began on Wednesday when the victim's mother contacted the Putnam County Child Protective Services and made child molestation accusations against Williams.
Further investigation led authorities to believe that on multiple occasions over the last three years, Williams has engaged in various sex acts with an eight-year-old female family member at his rural Coatesville home.
State police investigators served a search warrant at the rural Coatesville residence Thursday afternoon. Several items of evidence believed related to the alleged criminal activity were reportedly seized.
The case is being investigated by ISP Det. Deanna Jones.
