With new CD out, Kim Archer goes on tour by coming home Feb. 11
Fresh out of the recording studio for her just-released CD "My Friend," singer/songwriter Kim Archer is coming home as she goes on tour to promote her acclaimed new album.
The former Greencastle resident will be performing live from 9-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Swizzle Stick Bar, located at 17 W. Franklin St. in Greencastle.
Known for raw performances and personable interaction with her audiences, Archer has attracted a loyal following of fans in the Pacific Northwest and across the country.
For nearly a decade the lifelong musician has entertained standing-room-only crowds that consistently fill venues whether she's playing the Hard Rock Cafe with her tight four-piece band or an intimate club for a solo show.
Archer's music follows in the footsteps of female singer/songwriters like Joan Armatrading, Melissa Ethridge and Bonnie Raitt. With guitar in hand she commands the stage, playing her own original songs rooted in old school soul, funk and classic rock, blues and ballads.
She's also loves re-inventing iconic rock hits like Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like an Eagle," which she played live for her album "My Friend." Giving choice cover tunes the "Kim Archer treatment," she conjures up a whole new vibe on such vintage hits making sound fresh and different.
Now she's ready to bring her trademark performances to new venues so more people can see and hear why Kim Archer earned a 2010 Washington Blues Society nomination for Best Female Vocalist, and why her hometown fans in Tacoma, Wash., have voted her Best Overall Music Artist two years running in Best of Tacoma competitions.
