Joyce A. Custis

Mrs. Joyce A. Custis, 78, of Greencastle, passed from this life to life eternal on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born Feb. 28, 1933 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of John C. and Alpha Mae (Hammond) Boatright.

A 1951 graduate of Fillmore High School, she married Norman W. Custis on Sept. 23, 1951, and he preceded her in death Dec. 8, 2003.

Joyce devoted her life to her Lord and her family. She was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church.

Survivors include her children, Jerry W. Custis and wife Anita of Fillmore, Jack W. Custis and wife Sheree of Greencastle, and Julia M. Staley and husband Dennis of Fillmore, 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jeffrey R. Custis; and a sister, Marilyn Weist.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 with Pastor Mike Faust officiating at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory to the Fillmore Christian Church 102 N. Main St., Fillmore, IN 46128 or the donor's favorite charity.
