James J. Ball, 61, of Rockville, died at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute.
He was a teacher in the mathematics and computer science departments at Indiana State University.
He was born Feb. 13, 1951 in Greencastle to the late James Clarence Ball and Maxine Watson Ball.
He was a 1969 graduate of Rockville High School and Indiana State University.
Survivors include an aunt, Evaline Clark, Coatesville, and several cousins, Delores Woody of Gentry, Ark., Dale Ball of Bloomingdale, Sharon Hill of Montezuma, Gary Ball of Rockville, Loraine Leatherman of Crawfordsville, Ethel Cullen of Tavares, Fla., Betty Ireland of Judson, Ind., Ruth Hayes of Seymour, Loretta Hobbs of Marshall, Marilyn Rubley of Waynetown, Susan Alexander of Madian, N.C., and Norma Nauman of Greencastle.
He was preceded in death by his father on March 31, 1983 and his mother on April 4, 2001.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with the Revs. Dale Payne and Dana J. Spurgeon officiating.
Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.
Visitation is set for 9-11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Gooch Funeral Home.
