Florence 'Shug' Paris Cook

Florence 'Shug' Paris Cook, 78, Brazil, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at Exception Living Center, Brazil.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1934 in Owen County and was the daughter of the late Ross Myrl and Mary Caroline (Pullen) Paris.

She was a retired school bus drive for Clay Community Schools and was a member of the Wesley Chapel Church at Brazil.

She is survived by her children, Dora Phelps of Brazil and Roy Cook and wife Shelley of South Bend; her sister, Rose Hegeman of Rensselaer; her brother, Ralph M. Paris of Greencastle; and her grandchildren, Sarah Phelps, Katlin Cook and Mitchell Cook.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Paris and Mary Helen DeLaCruz and her brothers, Clyde Lee Paris, Robert K. Paris, Norman Kester and Ross "Junior" Paris.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 3--7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mannan Cemetery.
