Paging all pupils

Saturday, February 25, 2012

South Putnam High School students Miriah Cherry (left) and Kristin Rudolph (right) recently served as legislative pages for State Sen. Connie Lawson (R-Danville) during the 2012 session of the Indiana General Assembly at the Statehouse. Cherry is daughter of Mike Cherry, while Rudolph is daughter of Roger and Kim Rudolph. Pages interact with senators, sit in on proceedings and hand-deliver messages during session. In addition, pages hear discussion about bills and resolutions while senators vote on legislation. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to serve as pages during the 2012 legislative session, which runs through March 14. Interested students are urged to submit requests as soon as possible because space is limited. For more information, visit the Indiana Senate Republican home page and click the "For Students and Educators" tab or call 1-800-382-9467.
