Tigers to host NCAA first and second round games

Fresh off a victory in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament, the fourth-ranked DePauw women's basketball team will host the first two rounds of NCAA tournament play this weekend.

DePauw (26-1) will play host to Westminster (Mo.) College (22-4) in the opening round on Friday, March 2. The other first-round game at the Neal Fieldhouse in DePauw's Lilly Center features Wisconsin-Whitewater (22-6) and Carthage (20-7).

The winners of the two games will face off in the second round at Neal Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Westminster earned automatic qualification into the 64-team field by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. Wisconsin-Whitewater and Carthage each earned at-large berths.

The Tigers are making their ninth straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship and 13th in the last 17 years. DePauw is 19-11 in NCAA postseason play including winning the 2007 Division III.
