Girl Scouts lauded for donation to PCH

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

To the Editor:

We would like to publicly thank the North Putnam Girl Scouts, Service Unit 183, for their very generous donation of books and activity bags for our younger patients and visitors.

The girls repurposed T-shirts to make bags that contained books, coloring books, crayons, puzzle, stickers and more. Over 60 bags were donated to be distributed to children when they visit Putnam County Hospital.

Hundreds of books were also donated thanks to Half Price Books' Million Book Donation Project. The books were distributed among the various lobbies and offices to provide additional reading material for those of all ages.

Again, we greatly appreciate the Girl Scouts' generosity and their support of the local community!
