Camp Read-A-Lot

Friday, March 9, 2012

The Greencastle National Honor Society and the Putnam County Library hosted the Camp Read-A-Lot event on Thursday evening in the Greencastle High School multipurpose room. Elementary students were invited to partake in many activities such as coloring, friendship bracelet making, as well as hearing books read from the events "Celebrity Readers", which included Alan Small, Dan TeGrotenhuis and Mayor Sue Murray. Jacob Simmerman and Jeremiah Weir enjoyed listening to former elementary school prinicpal Small while sitting next to a campfire, while Sarah Simmerman got her face painted by Keith Cooper. Logan Peters spent his time making a bug out of an egg crate at the Buggy for Reading station. The National Honor Society is hoping to make this an annual event.
