Mary Alice Thomas, 82, of Carbon, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Indiana University Health and Hospital of Morgan County.
Mary was born Aug. 2,1929 in Rockville, Ind., the daughter of Odis and Bessie (Roach) Lancaster.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, hunting mushrooms, fishing and working in her yard. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cats.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers James Lancaster and Joseph Lancaster.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Thomas; a sister, Betty Keyt; 12 nieces and nephews and a special niece and nephew, Paula Kunkle and nephew J.C. Somers, as well as a few remaining cousins and a brother-in-law, Cecil Thomas.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil, with Pastors Kenny Thomas and Rick Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5- 8 p.m. Tuesday.
