Imogene 'Jeanne' Cummings Owen

Imogene "Jeanne" Cummings Owen, 90, Indianapolis formerly of Greencastle, after a long-fought battle joined her parents, brothers and sisters on Monday, March 12, 2012.

She had been extremely ill since October 2011.

She was born in Cloverdale on Aug. 15, 1921 and attended the Cloverdale schools until high school. She then moved to Indianapolis and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1940.

Her employment career consisted of working at Public Service in Plainfield, in the data processing department for Farm Bureau in Indianapolis and working at Headley Hardware in Greencastle until she was 72.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Otho and Lora Dee (Quinnette) Cummings of Cloverdale; her brothers, George Melvin, Verl and Chester Doyle Cummings; her sisters, Daphne B. Cummings, Peggy Herdrich, Doreen Henzman, Anne Downs, Mary Mull; and her son-in-law, Marc Hood.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Richard Owen; their daughters, Linda Owen and Deb Meadows; their grandchildren, Ashley Entwistle and Owen Hobein; and great-grandchildren Alaina and A. J., all of Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 16 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be on Friday, March 16, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Entombment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
