Mission Guatemala founder visits Gobin

Saturday, March 17, 2012

Tom Heaton, founder of Mission Guatemala, will be in Greencastle speaking at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church this weekend.

On Saturday he will share information on the five-year history of Mission Guatemala and the great progress that has been made. His presentation will be from 3-5 p.m. in the downstairs Colonnade Room. Refreshments will be served.

On Sunday he will give an overview on missions in general and Mission Guatemala in particular during the 50 minutes of the combined Sunday school classes of Gobin Memorial. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m. with his presentation beginning by 9:30 a.m.

He will be the guest speaker during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

An ordained United Methodist clergy who has served five congregations, Heaton felt called into a completely different ministry in 2008. Receiving government recognition as a non-profit organization in 2009, Mission Guatemala works at providing education, nutrition, medical and dental care, housing, clean water and solar ovens for the people of San Andrés Semetabaj, Guatemala

The public is invited to attend all events at Gobin Church.
