SAWS looking for work in 2012

Monday, March 19, 2012
The volunteers of SAWs Mission are hoping to bring a lot more smiles to faces in 2012, as they seek jobs to help disabled residents with home accessibility issues.

For the fourth year the Servants at Work (SAWs) Mission of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church is looking for handicap ramps, low-rise steps and safety rails to build for the disabled in Putnam County.

During the 2011 build season the SAWs Team completed 20 projects that provided improved access to the homes of residents of Putnam County.

The team would like to complete 30 projects during the 2012 season.

SAWs provides these projects to qualified handicapped residents of Putnam County at no cost. The mission of SAWs is to provide improved access to the homes of needy residents if at all possible.

SAWs is asking the citizens of Putnam County to help them find work for 2012. If you have difficulty accessing you home due to a handicap or know of someone who does, contact the Greencastle Presbyterian Church office at 653-5713 or churchoffice@cinergymetro.net. A representative of SAWs will answer the request as soon as possible.

With the community's help, the SAWs team will have a busy year helping those that need our help. If SAWs doesn't do this -- who will?
