Shirley Rooker, 76, of Bainbridge, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1935 in Putnam County to Fred Lukenbill and Nellie Cox Lukenbill.
Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Bainbridge High School.
Mrs. Rooker was a member of Bainbridge Christian Church and attended New Maysville Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tiffany Mauk; a great-grandson, Robert Cade Mauk; and a brother, Charles E. Lukenbill.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, cooking and flower gardening.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert H. Rooker; five children, Rusa Rogers of North Salem, Robin Lambermont and husband Jim of Troy, Mo., George Huber of Rockville, Richard Rooker of Bainbridge, and Recco Rooker and wife DeeAnn of Bainbridge; three brothers, Bill Lukenbill and wife Pat of Brownsburg, Marion Lukenbill and wife Betty of Brownsburg, and Keith Lukenbill and wife Dot of Greencastle; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
