Wayne Cowan, 74, of LeRoy, Ill., passed away at 4:41 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Ill.

Wayne was born May 14, 1937 in Clay, Ky., to Chester and Mary Kathryn Hopper Cowan.

He married Linda D. Miller on Aug. 1,1976 in Heyworth, Ill., and she survives in LeRoy.

Also surviving are a son, Kevin (Kim) Cowan of Naperville, Ill.; two daughters, Gayle (Gary) Sympson of Waynesville, Ill., and Peggy (Mike) Mitchell of LeRoy, Ill.; six grandchildren, Heather (David) Taylor, Haley Mitchell, Keith Cowan, Kyle Cowan, Brandy Sympson and Sara Sympson and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glenn and Ed Cowan, and a sister, Carole Ann Reinhart.

Wayne owned and operated AAutoglas System and also worked in various roles for Glass Specialty and Harmon Glass.

He was a member and elder of the LeRoy Christian Church and also the Heyworth Christian Church. He was a past member of the general board of the Little Galilee Christian Assembly.

Wayne was an avid stock car and NASCAR fan. He took great pride in riding in the golf cart while watching his granddaughters, Heather and Haley, play golf.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Rev. Tim Vollstedt and Earl Kauffman will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
