TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team placed second at the Terre Haute South Brave Invite Saturday. Terre Haute North won with a score of 307, with the Tiger Cubs following with a score of 313.

Alec Davis earned medalist honors after firing a round of 75. Brad Haussin followed closely with a 77, with Luke Brotherton shooting an 80. Tanner Dean carded an 81 and Raymond Stinson shot an 84.

"Alec had another fine score that won him his second tournament medalist of the season," GHS head coach Steve Paquin said. "He won again in a playoff with Adam LaGrange of Terre Haute North on the first playoff hole with a par."

Paquin also spoke on the course conditions and their effect on the round.

"The course played very difficult because of cold temps and winds of 15 mph out of the north," Paquin said. "Brad had a very good round going, but had some trouble on the ninth hole. The rest of our players had numerous opportunities to shoot good scores, but just couldn't make the putt, iron shot, or chip to make pars.

"We need to learn from missed opportunities in order to improve our scores; to be able to contend with the better teams in the State. I feel that we let this tournament get away because of our failure to make the good shot at the right time.

Greencastle will brave Rea Park once again today at 4:45 p.m. against Terre Haute South.
