Outage affecting non-emergency dispatch lines

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

An outage in the Metronet phone system is affecting some of the 10 digital phone lines at Putnam County Dispatch.

While 911 emergency calls are not affected, the non-emergency number (653-5115) was not working as of early Tuesday afternoon.

Dispatch has one line from a different service provider -- (765) 795-4791 -- that is currently working. The public may use this number to reach dispatch for non-emergency calls.

This story will be updated when the lines are operational or the situation changes in any way.

  • So are the lines still down?
