Arbor Day at POET

Monday, April 30, 2012
POET Biorefining of Cloverdale held it's Arbor Day event on Friday, April 27. The event included a tree planting and a general learning activity of the facility with the Central Elementary Environmental Club, FEET (Friendly Environmental Engineers of Tomorrow). Students got to learn about the importance of ethanol as well as received trees to plant at their own homes. "POET Tree" is Poet's Arbor Day activity that celebrates the connection between energy and nature. This year more than 9,400 trees were planted in POET communities or distributed to students to plant at their homes. POET employees Dave Brooks, Jason Corya, Michael Ratcliff and Jim Holderfield helped Central Elementary student Jason Tyler (above, center) plant a tree.
