North Putnam Middle School students enrolled in the eighth-grade Publications class will be taking part in the second annual "Chair"ish the Children Silent Auction, which will be taking place Friday, May 11 at the Putnam County Family Support Services office.

Students of the North Putnam Middle School eighth-grade Publications class are taking part in the second annual "Chair"ish the Children Silent Auction for the Family Support Services of Putnam County by decorating any wooden chair of their choice with any theme.

The students have rallied to come up with some interesting ideas. For instance, one group is painting its chair named "Stop Hunger Now." The entire chair is painted with food items that can be found in local food banks to help feed local families.

Another theme chosen was "Shining a Light on Child Neglect" which features a chair that is lit up with lights, and allows the problems of child neglect to always be seen and heard.

The silent auction will be conducted at the the Dixie Chopper Business Center on Friday, May 11.

The chairs will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the programs of Family Support Services. All participants will receive recognition of their participation.
