Robert G. 'Bob' Proctor

Robert G. "Bob" Proctor, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 following an illness.

Bob was born June 15, 1925, the son of James and Pauline (Peyton) Proctor.

He was a part of the Brazil High School Class of 1943 where he was president of the class his junior year. While in high school he was the quarterback on the football team and also played basketball as a member of the 1943 Wabash Valley Championship team.

Following high school Bob joined the U.S. Navy, where he was an aviation cadet.

Bob married Nancy Jeanette Stunkard in August 1946. He was a sales manager for Parker-Hannifin.

Bob attended First Christian Church, the Elks Lodge in Brazil and American Legion Post 2.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline Proctor; wife Nancy Proctor, infant son John Proctor and sister Mary Jane Proctor Jones.

He is survived by his son, Robert G Proctor and wife Mary (Fatout) of Indianapolis; daughter Jane Ervin of Velarde, N.M.; brother Jimmy Proctor and wife Barbara; and niece Tracy Britton of Reelsville; grandchildren Jessica, Grace, Anna, Mark and Cecile; great-grandchildren Nora, Miles, Clark, Wyatt, Jack, Beatrice and Sydney Jane along as several extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be Monday, May 14 from 1-4 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with Pastor Michael Goss officiating. A burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Center Point Cemetery.
