Troy Lee Fields, 48, of Carbon, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at IU Simon Cancer Center, Indianapolis, with his family and friends by his side.

Troy was born Dec. 22, 1963 in Brazil, the son of Bobby L. Fields and Diane G. (Phipps) Fields.

He graduated from Paris (Ill.) High School with the Class of 1982.

After high school, Troy worked at for a short time at Wendy's and Pike Lumber Co. before spending nearly 25 years at Great Dane Trailers. He was currently working for Emmert Property Management as its maintenance technician.

Troy also owned his own lawnmowing service. His biggest joy was the pride he took in caring for his lawn as well as many others.

Troy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter, Jadey Bear. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby L. Fields, and grandmother, Mary L. Phipps.

Survivors include his wife, Lori (Stinson) Fields; grandfather Ishmael Phipps; mother Diane Fields; children Travis Fields and wife Lindsey, Dominic Fields, Caleb Mason, Kaylee Mason and Megan Mason; granddaughter Jade Fields; sister, Kristina McVay and husband Christopher; brother-in-law Brian Stinson (Susan) of Clay City; sister-in-law, Dawn Stinson of Algonquin, Ill.; nieces Samantha Solomon, Ailia McVay and Emily Stinson; nephews Damien Solomon and Elijah Stinson, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil, with Gordon Manion officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 3-8 p.m.
