Cloverdale softball continues strong play

The Cloverdale softball team defeated Shakamak 5-3 Thursday for its 14th win of the season.

Paige Gutierrez pitched a complete game, logging 13 strikeouts and allowing four hits. Bradanne Toney was 4-for-4 with three RBI, while Kara Knapp was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single and an RBI. Heather Goss, Brianna Hoff, Gutierrez, Jess Winders, Adri Patterson and Kat Raisor all contributed hits.

The Clovers will plat the second game of the Putnam County Tournament Saturday at Greencastle. They will face the host Tiger Cubs following the opening game against South Putnam and North Putnam.
