Greencastle's Evan Smith has verbally committed to play soccer at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

Smith had 31 assists to help Greencastle to a 17-4 record, including a semi-state appearance last season. Smith's 31 assists placed him second in the state in assists and tied for fifth in the country. He is currently the all-time assists leader at GHS entering his senior season.

Smith started his career with the Putnam Panthers Recreational League and then played in the Putnam County Youth Soccer travel team until age 11, when we began playing for the Bloomington Cutters Club. At age 14 Smith began playing for South Central Soccer Academy in Center Grove in the Midwest Regional League.
