Doris Lee McCarty

Doris Lee McCarty, 86, of Bainbridge, passed away late Tuesday night, May 29, 2012 in the Danville Regional Rehab Center.

Born Feb. 21, 1926 in Queen City, Texas, she was the daughter of George Blalock and Grace (Rawlinson) Blalock.

She married Charles F. McCarty, and he preceded her Oct. 19, 2008.

Doris was a homemaker and had attended the Groveland Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing and making quilts.

Survivors include a son, David McCarty, Bainbridge; a daughter, Linda Everts and husband Stanley, Fillmore; 14 grandchildren, Chuck McCarty, Bainbridge, Aimee Day and husband Alan, Wyanet, Ill., Lora Hutcheson and husband Alan, Roachdale, Carl Everts and wife Michele, Fillmore, Lisa Knauer and husband Travis, Danville, Emmie Perez and husband Ramone, Crawfordsville, Becky McCarty, Greencastle, Katie McCarty, Bainbridge, and Sarah McCarty, Bainbridge; two stepgrandchildren, Christie, Plainfield, and Donna, Danville; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, two sisters and two brothers preceded her.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville (www.bousleyhaysfuneralhome.com).

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. John O'Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.
